William Kenneth "Bill" Wilbert

TOWER CITY • William Kenneth “Bill” Wilbert, 86, of Heritage Mills, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2020. He was born Feb. 3, 1933, son of the late Charles Franklin and Carrie Mae (Warfel) Wilbert. He married Marilyn Elaine (White) Wilbert June 14, 1952. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served for more than 22 years as an aerial gunner and as a rescue and survival instructor. He retired from the Air Force in 1972, taking a job with the U.S. Postal Service from which he retired in 1994 after 22 years of service. He was a member and past branch president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Millersburg. He enjoyed hunting and was a square dance teacher and caller. He is survived by five children: Joy (Robert) Erskine, Cambridge, Ohio; Kenneth (Michelle Chapman), Pagosa Springs, Colo.; Janice (Wade) Stellon, Reno, Nev.; Steven also of Reno; and Sherry (Kim) Hoy, Millersburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren: Rhonda (George) Sierecki and Michael (Trudi Wurts) Langston, New Carlisle, Ohio; Adrian (Alexis Heimann) Wilbert, Cumberland, Maine; Levi Wilbert, Laramie, Wy.; Carter Stellon, Reno, Nev.; Holly Landvater (David Faust), Enders, Pa.; Cody Hoy and Abbie Hoy, Millersburg, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Shawn, Kyle and Ryan Sierecki and Trenton and Tyler Langston, all of New Carlisle, Ohio; and Marissa Faust of Enders, Pa.; and one great-granddaughter, Rory Sierecki, New Carlisle, Ohio. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawna Jeanne Wilbert and granddaughter, Tierra Wilbert. Services were held at his church Jan. 24, 2020. Military honors will took place at the church. Burial is at the family’s convenience at Halifax United Methodist Church Cemetery, Halifax. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Elizabethville, handled the arrangements.
