MILLERSBURG • William (Bill) A. Specht Jr. went home to be with his Lord Sunday, June 16, 2019. It was fitting that it was Father’s Day. Bill was an extraordinary man. He was born Feb. 12, 1931, son of the late William A. Specht Sr. and Lela J. (Cochrane) Specht. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara; and his brother, Fredrick. Bill is survived by his wife of 66 years, Janet E. Specht (Clouser); daughters Sheri Lynn (Dave Hess), Robin Leigh (Robert Stoner); and son William Arthur III (Lisa Shaffer). He was blessed with six grandchildren, Bethany Hess Lewis, Benjamin Hess, Ashley Specht Eggleston, Brandon Hess, Morgan Specht Wagner and Kayla Specht Mongold, and 11 great-grandchildren. Bill was a lifelong resident of Millersburg, graduating from Millersburg High School in the Class of 1949. He attended Susquehanna University prior to his military service in the U.S. Army. He was a Korean War Veteran. He served his community for many years as a member of the Millersburg Area Water and Sewer Authority. He was a member of the Millersburg Assembly of God. He worked for Seal Glove Manufacturing, beginning in 1954 and went on to purchase the business in 1961. Bill loved his work and joyfully invested his time to see the business grow! Bill loved people and was a natural salesman. At one time he employed more than 140 people working as a team to manufacture work gloves of all types. Bill loved his wife and family! His children and their children’s children were the pride of his life! He was an encourager and cheerleader for his family to be the best they could be! His family will always treasure his words of wisdom! He loved listening to Janet sing and play the piano. Bill loved his wife deeply and was grateful for their life together! However, these things were not what made him an extraordinary man. What made him extraordinary was his love for Jesus! Because of his relationship with Jesus, we will see him again! Today he ran into the arms of His loving Heavenly Father. This Father’s Day he experienced the desire of his heart and the goal of his life, to know Jesus in His fullness! So Bill, thanks for all you have done. Thank you for being a good man, who loved his family, who kept Jesus in his heart, and who lived as an example for us all! Well done! Enter heaven’s rest! You were loved here on earth, and you are loved in heaven as well! A memorial service in Bill’s honor will be held Friday, June 21 at the Millersburg Assembly of God at 2261 Shippen Dam Rd., Millersburg, Pa. A visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m., with the memorial service to follow. A private graveside interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Lifeline Pregnancy Care Center, 403 Union St., Millersburg, PA or The Capital Area Dream Center, P.O.
