Tiara Trot for Joy to honor legacy of young woman
By Duane Good EDITOR
As a family member put it, the legacy of Joy Melissa Martz lies in her first name. The young lady exuded positivity everywhere she went and with everyone she encountered. ‘‘Joy was a ‘hugger’ – she truly embraced life in general, and individual people both literally and figuratively,’’ her sister Jill Martz Yisrael noted. That legacy will be remembered Sunday, Nov. 10 in the inaugural Tiara Trot for Joy – so named for the headpieces the young lady loved to wear. It is scheduled for 10 a.m. in Selinsgrove at East Snyder Park, 675 E. University Ave. There will be both a 5K running course and a more level ‘‘roll and stroll’’ option for walkers, baby strollers and individuals with more limited mobility.
