TREMONT • Thomas W. “Head” Griffiths, 65, died Dec. 16 at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1954, in Pottsville, a son of the late Clarence and Betty Smith Griffiths. He was a 1972 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School. He was retired from Dayton Superior, Tremont. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Tremont; a former coach and umpire with Tremont Little League baseball; and a former coach of freshmen basketball with Pine Grove Area School District. He was preceded in death by a grandson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Maggie Lutz Griffiths; a daughter, Heather Renninger of Newtown; and a granddaughter. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Tremont.
