LYKENS • Thomas J. Schnieder, 74, died March 21 at Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was born March 10, 1945, in Harrisburg, a son of the late John and Evelyn Wiest Schnieder. He was a 1964 graduate of the former Lykens High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam war. He was retired from Powell, Rogers and Speaks, Inc., Halifax. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and John Schnieder. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Rose Matter Schnieder; a son, Jeff Schnieder; and a daughter, Kim Painter, both of New Jersey; two stepsons, Kirk Peterson of Japan and Drew Peterson of Lykens; 10 grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Schnieder of Elizabethville; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, March 26, at noon, from Calvary United Methodist Church, Wiconisco. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-noon at the church. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 320, Wiconisco, PA 17097.
