Thomas E. Britton
LYKENS • Thomas E. Britton, 83, of Lykens, passed away April 27. Born in Lykens, June 26, 1936, he was a son of the late Daniel and Laura Horley Britton. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a heavy equipment supervisor/operator from Ft. Indiantown Gap. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Williamstown American Legion and a 50-year member of the Ashlar Lodge F&AM 570, Lykens. He enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, especially orchids and cactuses. Tom also enjoyed his many trips to Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel, and four sisters, Sarah Houtz, Elsie Thomas, Mae Hart and Til Shomper. Surviving are his wife Patty Lou Carl Britton, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 16; two daughters, Melissa L. Britton of Lykens and Amy L. Kline and her husband Scott of Florida; a granddaughter, Brittany Hoover; two great-granddaughters, Audrina Hoover and Elise Brosius and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Tom’s life will be announced for family and friends as soon as the current health restrictions are lifted.
