Thomas E. Britton
LYKENS • Thomas E. Britton, 83, of Lykens, passed away April 27. Born in Lykens, June 26, 1936, he was a son of the late Daniel and Laura Horley Britton. Tom was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a heavy equipment supervisor/operator from Ft. Indiantown Gap. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a member of the Williamstown American Legion and a 50-year member of the Ashlar Lodge F&AM 570, Lykens. He enjoyed gardening and planting flowers, especially orchids and cactuses. Tom also enjoyed his many trips to Florida. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel, and four sisters, Sarah Houtz, Elsie Thomas, Mae Hart and Til Shomper. Surviving are his wife Patty Lou Carl Britton, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary April 16; two daughters, Melissa L. Britton of Lykens and Amy L. Kline and her husband Scott of Florida; a granddaughter, Brittany Hoover; two great-granddaughters, Audrina Hoover and Elise Brosius and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Tom’s life will be announced for family and friends as soon as the current health restrictions are lifted. Those wishing to make donations in Tom’s name can do so by making them to the Williamstown American Legion, 123 W. Market St., Williamstown PA 17098.
