Sylvia C. Benoist
HALIFAX • Sylvia C. Benoist, 75, of Halifax, died June 10, 2020, at home. She was born July 5, 1944 in Duncannon, Pa., the daughter of the late Harvey and Ruth (Smith) Hammaker. Sylvia was married to the late James S. Benoist Sr. She is survived by her son, James S. Benoist Jr. of Enola; daughter, Rachel A. wife of Kenneth Corsnitz of Halifax; grandchildren, Amanda and her husband Johnny Henry II, Kelli-Jo and her husband T.J. Zeiders, and William and his wife Mandy Corsnitz; great-grandchildren, Hayden, Ethan, Alexus, Calie, Mitchell, Reagan and Teddy. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond Hammaker and two sisters, Barb Hammaker and Ruth Engel and her husband Pete. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Alton, Lester, and Harry and a sister Viola Garman. She was a member of the Halifax VFW, the Duncannon Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion, and the West Fairview Firehouse Ladies Auxiliary. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Minnich Funeral, PO Box 386, Elizabethville PA 17023.
