SPORTS UPDATE: Teams, individuals among top archery seeds
Upper Dauphin Area has qualified for next week’s NASP state tournament as the top seed in the High School Team division.
The Trojans narrowly missed the high school state title last year. However, the middle school team won the trophy. This year, UDA is second seeded in that category.
The Halifax and Williams Valley teams are seeded third and fourth, respectively, among high schools. Line Mountain has the middle school fourth seed.
Among individual archers, Halifax’s Sadie Wilhelm and Williams Valley’s Madison Shutt are among the four High School Female archers tied for top seed.
Millersburg’s Grant Schlegel and Halifax’s Ethan McCarron are among the five High School Male archers tied for the number one spot.
In the Middle School Male category, Millersburg’s Brendan Bixler and Line Mountain’s Casey Keiter are tied for second-seed, along with two other archers.
Kiera Leitzel, also of Line Mountain, holds the number three seed among Middle School Females.
The state tournament begins Friday morning, March 13 at the Multi-Sport Center on the campus of Pennsylvania State University.
