HALIFAX • Shirley B. Radel, age 80, of Halifax, Pa., passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Premier at Susquehanna Village in Millersburg. She was born Aug. 20, 1938, in Tuscarora Twp., Perry County. She was the daughter of the late Roland Byers and Florence Sweger Byers of Millerstown. She was the widow of Henry E. Radel of Halifax. Shirley retired from D&H Distributing Company in Harrisburg and later served for 30 years as the Wayne Twp. secretary. She was a former member of St. Paul’s (Bowerman’s) Lutheran Church in Enterline, where she served on the Church Council and the cemetery board. Shirley was also a member of Farm Women No. 10 of Enterline. Shirley is survived by brothers Lewis Byers (Connie), Sam Byers (Carol), Charles Byers (Mary Lee), Earl Byers (Kay) and Roy Byers, all of Millerstown; as well as brothers and sisters in-law and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Beatrice Ricedorf and brothers John, George, Glen, Les and Wayne Byers. There will be a viewing Friday, March 22, 2019, at Bowerman’s Church in Enterline from 10-11 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., with burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bowerman’s Church Cemetery, Attn. Marci Radel, 1765-A Back Rd., Halifax, PA 17032.
