The proposed merger of the Millersburg and Upper Dauphin Area school districts will be the topic of two meetings in March as follows: • The district’s boards will hold a joint meeting Thursday, March 4 to receive public comment on the proposal and to hold a discussion without taking a final vote. The meeting will be held in the Upper Dauphin Area High School auditorium, starting at 6 p.m. There will be both an in-person attendance option as well as live-streaming via the Trojan Broadcasting Network. However, anyone planning to attend is asked to RSVP the respective board secretaries – Cathy Artz, ArtzC@mlbgsd. k12.pa.us; and Mary Bateman, BatemanM@uda sd.org – so the administration can manage COVID-19 gathering guidelines. Public comments/ questions can be made in person or by submitting written comments via Artz or Bateman to be read aloud during the meeting. SEE MERGING • PAGE A5
Merger’s effect on curriculum, staff discussed
By Duane Good EDITOR ELIZABETHVILLE

These are some of the possibilities should the Millersburg and Upper Dauphin Area school districts merge into one entity in the near future. The presentation focused on curriculum in the proposed merged district. But it also laid out projected class sizes, costs and cost savings and what would be required in staffing. The full presentation is archived on the Trojan Broadcasting Network’s YouTube page. Documents that accompanied the presentation are available on
