HALIFAX • Samuel “Sam” Robert Cook, age 22, passed away June 12, 2019, in a tragic automobile accident. He was born May 6, 1997, in Harrisburg, son of William R. and Suzette R. (Shoop) Cook of Halifax. He was a graduate of Halifax Area High School class of 2015 and also attended VoAg classes at Upper Dauphin Area High School. He was skilled in NASP Archery, placing third and fourth in Pennsylvania State Tournaments. He also enjoyed baseball, both playing and watching, especially the Red Sox. He was a member of Local 520 Pipe Fitters Union and worked for Heim Company as a fitter/welder. Sam was a wonderful son and big brother. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his family and friends, and his pets, Junie and Lincoln. He had a great sense of humor and a very bright future ahead of him. Words cannot express how much Sam was tremendously loved by his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all. He is survived by a paternal grandmother, JoAnne Williard, his parents, a brother, Jacob W. Cook, and a sister, Mackenzie R. Cook, all of Halifax; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his girlfriend of five years, Mikayla Cheran. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfathers, Emory Cook Sr. and Fred Williard; and maternal grandmother, Evelyn Shoop. Services were held June 18 at Minnich Family Funeral Homes, Inc., Williamstown, Pa. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Enders. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Elizabethville, handled the arrangements.
