HALIFAX • Sally (Sweigard) Snyder, 75, of Halifax, Pa., passed into glorious eternity Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021, at Hershey Medical Center surrounded by her daughters and devoted husband. She was born March 1, 1946, in Halifax Twp. to the late Raymond and Arla Sweigard. She graduated from Halifax High School class of ’64. She met the love of her life, Neil Snyder, at her high school prom, and they have been married for 54 years. Sally was employed as a social worker for the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare for nine years. She taught private piano lessons for more than 40 years and was a member of the American College of Musicians, Music Teachers National Association, and the Capital Area Chapter of Music Teachers. Sally believed in continuing education and studied piano with Cheryl Braun and pipe organ with Dr. Shelly M. Stahlman. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church of Harrisburg. Sally was a gifted pianist and pipe organist, who enjoyed classical music. She had a passion for teaching children a love for the piano. The highlight of her life was spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren. She loved cooking and entertaining. In addition to her husband, Sally is survived by her daughter Jessica Reynolds and her husband Micah, and grandchildren Aiden, Isaac and Evelyn; daughter Darla Hogan and her husband Charles, and grandchildren Donovan, Christina and Jaxson; sister Elaine Deppen and brother Kenneth Sweigard. She was preceded in death by her brother Lee Sweigard. A visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at the Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home in Millersburg. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at 3 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, State Street, Harrisburg.
