Ruth A. MacDonald

HERNDON • Ruth A. MacDonald, age 93, of Herndon, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2020, at the Mansion Nursing & Rehab, Sunbury. She was born in Lower Mahanoy Twp., Northumberland County Nov. 11, 1926, the daughter of George A. & Edith (Snyder) Zeiders. She was preceded in death by two husbands, James J. Correll Dec. 25, 1960, and Richard R. MacDonald Sept. 11, 2010. For many years, Ruth operated a beauty salon at her home in Herndon. Through the years, her many patrons became her dearest friends and extended family, and she worked well into her 80s because she looked forward to spending time with them. She was also a member of the Zion Church, Herndon. She is survived by her daughter, Tara L. MacDonald, Atlas, a sister, Pauline Newman, Herndon, two nieces, Debra Leitzel, Herndon, Teresa Zulauf, Klingerstown and many great- nieces and nephews. Graveside services were held Nov. 6 at the Herndon Cemetery with Pastor Jane Compton officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Mansion Nursing and Rehab for its kind and compassionate care for Ruthie.
