Russell L.”Mickey” Matter
GRATZ • Russell L. “Mickey” Matter, 88, formerly of Gratz, died July 13 at the Premier at Susquehanna, Millersburg.
He was born April 21, 1932, in Klingerstown, a son of the late Carrie Hoffman Matter and the late Ralph Matter.
Mickey retired from the former Brubaker Tool Co., Millersburg.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz.
He was also a member of Gratz VFW Post No. 2385 and American Legion Post No. 504, Mandata.
He is survived by a brother, Lamar Matter of Northumberland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Marlin Matter and Carl Matter, and three sisters, Lorraine Gerhart, Kathryn Weber, and Fern Miller.
Services were held July 20 at the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, followed by interment with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
