LYKENS • Rodney “Rod” Snook, 54, died June 15 at Select Specialty Hospital, Harrisburg. He was born June 26, 1964, in Lock Haven, a son of Iolene Snook of Loganton and the late Lewis Snook. He graduated from Sugar Valley High School, Loganton, and attended Nashville Auto Diesel College. While in high school he was active in FFA and 4H and was also a member of AFMA District 8 and District 11, where he was known as Tex. He was employed as a diesel mechanic at Cleveland Brothers, Harrisburg, and last worked as a truck driver at Zimmerman Truck Lines, Mifflintown. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Jeremy Smeltz. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Dawn Mattern Snook; a stepson, Jason Smeltz of Urban; six siblings: David Snook, Bonnie Beck, Ellen Meyer, Connie Overdorf, Gale Snook, and Lewis Snook, Jr.; two grandchildren; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Saturday, June 22 at 11 a.m. at Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown. Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the church.
