MILLERSBURG • Feb. 2, 2021, Robin, 58, passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home where there is no more pain or suffering. She was born Dec. 28, 1962, in Harrisburg Hospital, to the late Delmar Wiest and Shirley Maurer (Middaugh, Charlock). At 3 years of age, she was adopted by the late Robert Middaugh and raised in Matterstown along with her siblings, Rhonda Gonder (Ralph) of Lykens R.D., Gina Middaugh of Wiconisco, Jessee Reed (Jeffrey) of Northumberland and the late Franklin Middaugh (Tonia) of Jim Thorpe. She was married to Daniel Strauser for 33 years, and they raised three children, Anthony (Amanda) of Kittanning, Ryan (Sarah) of Mechanicsburg, and Cassondra Hinson (Mark) of Enola. She was blessed with eight grandchildren: Brayden, Haylee, Zayne, Ender, Makayla, Isabella and twins Thorin and Leonidis, whom she adored. Growing up, she loved horses, dress up and opening gifts on special occasions, and she carried that love throughout her life. She graduated from Lykens Christian School and Barbizon Modeling School where she developed poise and grace. She worked for Fulton Bank for many years, from teller to next in charge. She was instrumental in the establishment of Northern Dauphin Chamber of Commerce and Revitilization program. She was also very involved in Giving Light Church and her children’s activities. Music was a big part of their lives. They raised wonderful children. In 2007, just before her first grandchild was born, she was diagnosed with AML leukemia. She was very ill but made the four-hour trip to Kittanning to see him and then came back and started chemo treatments. She was declared cancer-free after a long battle and then dedicated the next 10 years to helping raise her grandchildren, mentoring and caring for them. Then she decided to return to the work force. She was hired, by God’s grace, as an officer of banking and securities for the state. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out, and we will miss her. Her legacy lives on in her family.
