MILLERSBURG • Robert Newton Alleman, age 85, of Dalmatia, died Aug. 21, 2020 at Heritage Mills Personal Care.
He was born July 7, 1935, in Millersburg, PA., the son of the late Charles W. Alleman and Susan (Wert) Alleman.
Robert was married to Barbara (Spangler) Alleman for 43 years.
He retired from Dupont as a Maintenance Engineer, and was a former employee of Brubaker Tool Co., Millersburg.
Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army in May of 1956 and served as an M.P. in Germany, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Millersburg.
He enjoyed outdoor activities and going for walks, which he called his ‘attitude adjustments’. He was also known for his key phrases for thanking those who cared for him, just for coming to work that day. He is survived by his daughter Heather Stephens and her husband Greg of Dalmatia; nieces Mishon and her husband Doug of Ephrata, and Sueann and her husband Lahn Masser of Florida; nephew Terry Alleman of Duncannon, and several friends that were like family to him.
He was preceded in death by brother Charles Alleman III, and niece Charlotte Alvord.
The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 28 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home Ltd., Millersburg, from 10–11 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
