MILLERSBURG • Robert Franklin Hepner Sr., 86, of Millersburg, died July 2, 2021, at Milton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by family members. He was born July 17, 1934. He was the son of the late John and Frances Hepner. He is survived by his wife, Jean, of 67 years. He also is survived by his daughters, Rose (Harry) Tapper, Carla (John) Hoffman and Melissa (Louis) Zilinski; sons, Robert Jr. (Jennifer) Hepner, Edwin (Terri) Hepner; 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was an Eagle Scout and earned the Order of the Arrow. He graduated from Mahanoy Joint High School. He worked in the carpentry/building business his whole life, starting as Robert F. Hepner General Contractor Remodeling and New Building, Herndon. He built the famous Pe Pe House. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing and had his picture in Pennsylvania Game News with his prize, a nine-point buck, which he was very proud of. When he retired, he had a saw-sharpening business and continued building in his shop. He and his wife made wooden crafts, and they enjoyed retirement life together. He was a good, hard-working and very smart man. He was a good husband and father who was very proud of his family, and his family was very proud of him. He will be missed by everyone. He was a member of the Mandata Rod and Gun Club in Sullivan County and a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ in Urban. A private family funeral will be held at Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, where he will be laid to rest. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, is in charge of the arrangements.
