Richard A. Bruner

MILLERSBURG • Richard A. Bruner, age 73, of Millersburg, passed away July 17, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born July 14, 1948, in Lykens, Pa., the son of the late Carl and Mildred (Grosser) Bruner. Richard was married to Dixie (Gurman) Bruner for 51 years. He retired from Rite Screen in Elizabethville. He also worked with the family businesses. Richard served in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War 1968-70. He was a member of the Keystone Garage Club, 717 Street-Strip Car Club and the Millersburg VFW. In his free time, Rich enjoyed cruising around in his classic cars, spending time with his family and attending various events for his grandchildren including school activities and motorcycle races. In addition to his wife Dixie, he is survived by his sons, Bryan Richard Bruner and his wife Heather of Halifax and Brad A. Bruner and wife Carrie of Halifax; step-daughter, Rebecca Single of Florida; grandchildren, Landon and Reece Bruner, Mason Bruner, Madison Ingram, Morgan Foulds and Payton Single; brothers, Robert, Carl Jr. and George; sisters, Mary Snyder, Anna Lenker, Ruth Miller and Donna Alvord. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Harry and Rocky Bruner. A funeral service was held July 26 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home Ltd., Millersburg. Burial was at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka KS 66675-8516, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
