TOWER CITY • Randy “Red Mutt” Sweigard, 65, of Tower City, formerly of Halifax, passed away Friday, Oct. 18. He was born in Halifax, July 9, 1954, a son of Betty P. Sweigard, Tower City, and the late Charles Sweigard. Randy attended Halifax High School. He previously was employed as a warehouse laborer and a truck driver. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking. He loved spending time on his motorcycle and riding with his son. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard. Surviving in addition to his mother, he will be sadly missed by his son, Isaac E. Sweigard, Halifax; brothers, Wayne Sweigard, Tower City, Kim Sweigard, Trevorton, Timothy and Scott Sweigard, both of Tower City; and his former wife, Brenda Warner, Halifax. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. from the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc., Tower City. Viewing will be from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
