MUIR • Ralph R. “Sam” Reiner, 83, died June 3 at his residence. He was born May 30, 1936, in Muir, a son of the late Ralph and Ida Bressler Reiner. He was a 1954 graduate of Porter High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran, where he was an intelligence analyst of the Special Troops Headquarters Co. in Heidelberg, Germany. He was a retired machinist from the former AMP, Inc., Tower City. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Muir; Muir Fire Co.; and the Tower City American Legion. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Reiner; and a sister, Vera Hunter. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine “Kay” Smyk Reiner; three daughters: Renita Hawk of Tower City, Renee Rodichok of Williamstown, and Rhonda Miller of Muir; a sister, Anna Carl of Maryland; and four grandchildren. Services were held June 7 from Grace United Methodist Church. Burial with military honors was in Methodist Cemetery, Muir. Contributions may be made to Grace U.M. Church, 101 E.
