Phyllis Jean Corsnitz
HALIFAX • Phyllis Jean (Waltz) Corsnitz passed away peacefully May 15, 2020.
She was born in Belfast Twp., Fulton County, Pa., Nov. 4, 1938. She was the second daughter of the late Gayle and Helen (Lynch) Waltz.
While raising three children as a single parent, she held down a full-time position as a waitress at Lennie’s Restaurant in Halifax. She was employed there from 1967 until retirement in 1995.
For many years, Phyllis served as the Ladies Auxiliary President of the Powell’s Valley Fire Company in Matamoras, Pa.
Phyllis was an active participant in a bowling league. She also enjoyed fishing in the Susquehanna River and hunting on the family farms. She was an excellent seamstress and quilt maker. She was a long time member of the Matamoras Community Church.
She is survived by her long-time companion Frank Kozloski as well as daughter, Linda Corsnitz (David Burr), and sons Scott Corsnitz (Gwen) and Bryan Corsnitz (Dee).
The biggest joy in life was her grandchildren, Jared Corsnitz (Amber), Amanda Corsnitz, Megan Corsnitz, Brett Corsnitz, Helena Burr, Audrey Burr, Joshua Corsnitz and Lukas Corsnitz. She is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Mia, Bodie and Ryder Corsnitz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Gerald Waltz.
A private burial service will be held at Long’s Cemetery, Halifax, at the convenience of the family.
