HALIFAX • Pearl G. Buffington, age 90, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior with open arms May 9, 2021. She was born Sept. 9, 1930, in Lykens, daughter of the late Isaac and Hattie (Klinger) Howard. She was one of 13 children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Marlin L. Buffington in 1993 and a son, Leonard Buffington. Surviving are sons, Jeff Buffington, Craig (Lorene) Buffington and Keith (Dana) Buffington, all of Halifax; daughter, Tina Buffington of Tower City; and her brother, Harold Howard of Elizabethville. Pearl had nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church, Berrysburg. She retired from the former Muskin Shoe Co., Millersburg, and Accu-Mold & Tool Co. Inc., Halifax. Pearl enjoyed spending time gardening in her flower gardens with the hummingbirds, picnicking with her family and friends and riding the Phoenix Roller coaster at Knoebel’s Amusement Resort with whomever would ride with her. A graveside funeral was held May 14, 2021, at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Berrysburg. The Rev. Tom Bruner officiated.
