HARRISBURG • Pauline Emma Herb, 100, formerly of Lavelle and Pitman, died June 20 at UPMC Harrisburg. She was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Pitman, a daughter of the late Henry and Mabel Klinger Lesher. She attended school in Pitman. She was employed at the dress factory in Gordon and was last employed at the shoe factory in Millersburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanford “Stiney” Herb; her companion, Luther Maurer; a stepdaughter, Marie Mattern; three sisters: Minnie Kessler, Mary Lesher and Margaret Kessler; and three brothers: Glenn, Marlin and Vernon Lesher. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Sharon Snyder; three grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; five siblings: Jean Heim, Ruth Chubb, Anna Wiest, Paul Lesher and Henry Lesher; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Wednesday, June 26 at 11 a.m. at Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
