HALIFAX • Paul W. Enders, 94, of Enders Road, Halifax, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, May 6, 2021, at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He was born April 15, 1927, in Halifax, the son of the late Lester and Hattie (Wise) Enders. Paul was the widower of Carley (Wiest) Enders. After the death of his beloved wife, Carley, Paul enjoyed spending time with his dear friend, June Gelnett. Paul attended Miller’s Church and Valleys E.C. Church, both in the Halifax area. After completing elementary school in a one-room schoolhouse in Enders and graduating from the Boyer Memorial School in Halifax in 1945, Paul completed some college. In 1950, he was drafted for the Korean War, serving in the tank company 180th infantry 45th Division, and was honorably discharged in 1952 after receiving two purple hearts among other medals. Paul retired from Greyhound with 33 years of service as a Greyhound bus driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, farming, crossword puzzles and taking road trips. Paul was a member of the Ginter-Koppenheffer VFW Post 5750 of Halifax and the Lloyd-William American Legion Post 648. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Linda Enders of Halifax, Douglas and Donna Enders of Elizabethville, and Mark and Joanne Enders of Halifax. Additionally, he had two granddaughters, four stepgranddaughters, one stepgrandson, three stepgreat-granddaughters and three stepgreat-grandsons. Surviving are a brother, Robert A. Enders, of Enola and a sister, Myra E. Hoffman, of Duncannon as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Enders (Halifax). We would like to thank our local EMS providers and LifeLion for their service.
