DALMATIA • Paul R. Lenker, 88, died Jan. 7 at Green Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center, Pitman. He was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Lower Mahanoy Twp., a son of the late Howard and Mary Lenker. He worked for Meckley Quarry, Shaffer Trucking, Weavers Garage and Byerly’s Bus Service as a mechanic. In 1959, he attended Frigidaire training center in Cherry Hill, N.J., where he took basic refrigeration and electricity. He worked for Wertz Electric as an appliance serviceman for 11 years. In 1971 he started his own business selling and servicing Frigidaire and Jenn Air appliances. He was awarded both accredited and master accredited technician ratings. He ran his business for 27 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Red Cross. He served on the council for a number of years. After retiring, he did volunteer work at the church. He was preceded in death by brothers: George, Carl and John Lenker; and sisters: Martha Witmer, Katherine Snyder and Mary Furman. Paul is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lena Lenker; a son, Chris Lenker of Dalmatia; a daughter, Sharon Boyer; and three grand. Memorial services were held Jan. 12 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Red Cross. Burial was in the church cemetery. James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, was in charge of arrangements.
