The Upper Dauphin Sentinel received the following statement regarding the events planned Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, in celebration of the Halifax area’s 225th anniversary.
‘‘The 225th Celebration Committee and the Mayor of Halifax have decided to postpone the Music and Wine Festival on Friday, July 19 and the Parade and the Picnic in the Park on Saturday, July 20 due to the extreme heat.
‘‘Our utmost responsibility is to you as our community to keep all safe during this heat wave.
‘‘Thank you for your understanding and support.
‘‘The Parade and Picnic in the Park will be Saturday, Sept. 14 and the Music and Wine Festival will be Sunday, Sept. 15.’’
