PINE GROVE • Miriam F. “Mim” Wetzel, 92, formerly of Pitman, died June 7, at Providence Place. She was born on July 2, 1926, in Helfenstein, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Marlow Maurer. She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hegins, where she was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Wetzel; two sisters, Stella Miller and Beatrice Pennypacker; and five brothers: Arthur Maurer, Earl Maurer, Raymond Maurer, Paul Maurer and Luther Maurer. She is survived by two daughters, Darlene Carl of Hegins and Beth Gallagher of Lusby, Md.; three granddaughters; two sisters, Naomi Yarnell of Grand Terrace, Calif. and Esther Wetzel of Ashland; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Hegins. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Hepler’s Church of God Cemetery, Pitman. Contributions may be made to Ruth Steinert Memorial SPCA, 18 Wertz Dr., Pine Grove, PA 17963.
