Matthew Paul Stoner
MILLERSBURG • Matthew Paul Stoner, age 48, of Route 25, Mifflin Twp., passed away suddenly Tuesday July 28, 2020 while on vacation with his family at Carolina Beach, N.C., and is now rejoicing in heaven with Jesus.
He was born Feb. 22, 1972, in Harrisburg, son of the late Barry Lee Stoner Sr. and Julianna (Bauman) Stoner who survives him in Harrisburg.
He was a graduate of Harrisburg Christian School, and a 1995 graduate of Ferris State University, Michigan, with a degree in pharmacy. He was a pharmacist for over 26 years and worked locally for CVS.
He was an active member, deacon, and youth group leader at Bible Baptist Church, New Bloomfield.
Surviving are his mother, Julianna Stoner; his wife of 25 years, Heidi Leanne (Loych) Stoner; their children, Lauren E. Stoner, Rachel A. Stoner, and Grant M. Stoner, all at home; brother, Barry L. (Lisa) Stoner Jr., and their two children, Kelsey and Tyler of Harrisburg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Barry L. Stoner Sr., and sister, Denise M. Intrieri.
Matt loved hunting, biking, being outdoors, watching, playing, and coaching sports, spending time with his family, working with the youth group, and spending time with Jesus. He was a loving husband, a terrific dad, and a great neighbor and friend to all.
A visitation will be held at his church Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 from 9-11 a.m. Services starting at 11 a.m. will be officiated by Pastor James God. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.
Covid-19 restrictions will be in place and use of face masks is required for attendees.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through any BB&T bank branch to “Heidi Stoner” for continuing education purposes for the children.
