HALIFAX • Mary Joanne Roadcap, 80, of Halifax, passed away peacefully March 7, 2020, at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill. She was born April 22, 1939, in Lykens, daughter of the late John Fox and Florence Renshaw. She was married to Leonard C. Roadcap Jr. of Halifax for 63 years. Joanne was a member of Word of Life Chapel in Halifax. She was a caregiver and babysitter to many boys and girls in the Halifax community throughout her life. She always had a love for children and took great care of her kids and all of their friends growing up. In her later years, she did the same for her grandkids and great-grandkids. Joanne enjoyed painting and other types of art. She was an animal lover, and especially enjoyed leading ponies, which is how she met her husband, Lenny. In addition to her husband, Joanne is survived by her daughter, Susanna Roadcap; three sons: Jeffrey Scott Roadcap (Yvonne), John Roadcap (Tina) and Joseph Arnold Roadcap (Denise); five grandchildren: Sheana, Brent, Jackie, Corey and Seth; nine great-grandchildren: Madison, Zoey, Landon, Hunter, Hudson, Darryn, Koby, Jackson and Teagan. She also is survived by four brothers: Francis, Lance, Larry and Robert Fox; and four sisters: Barbara Klouser, Debra Warner, Rose Cole and Diane Schimko. In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her stepmother, Rose Fox; her two grandchildren, Baby Girl Roadcap and Jolisa Marie Roadcap; and her brother, John Russell (Rusty) Fox. Services were held March 12 at Word of Life Chapel in Halifax. Burial followed at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd. in Millersburg handled the arrangements.
