HERNDON • Mark J. Oxenrider, 88, of Herndon died Jan. 14 at Premier at Susquehanna Village.
He was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Leck Kill, a son of the late Francis and Katie (Snyder) Oxenrider.
He was employed as a carpenter and retired in April 1993 from the Celotex Corp., Sunbury.
He was a member of David’s U.C.C., Hebe, the Mandata American Legion and the Herndon and Dalmatia fire companies.
He helped build the Albino Eagle Lodge, where he was the current vice president.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen M. (Laudenslager) Oxenrider; three children, Carol Mace, Ronald Oxenrider and Joseph Oxenrider, all of Hebe; one sister, Eleanor Rebuck; one brother, Carl Oxenrider, four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Terry Andrew Mace and Rose Miller, and 15 siblings.
Services were held Jan. 18 at David’s United Church Of Christ, Hebe. Interment followed in David’s Cemetery, Hebe.
The Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
