Lianna Sue Bates

MILLERSBURG • Lianna Sue Bates, age 13, of Millersburg, died Jan. 17, 2021, at home. She was born Feb. 5, 2007, in Harrisburg, Pa., the daughter of Barry Bates Jr. and Jacob Knode and Tausha Watts. She was adopted Jan. 25, 2009, and raised by Nona A. Bates. She was an eighth grade student at Millersburg Middle School. She enjoyed being outdoors, riding four-wheeler, and hunting and fishing, and she loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Larry Bates; sisters, Angela Manning, Natalie Knode, Nina Goodling, Lisa Goodling and Deanna Goodling; aunts and uncles Trisha and Brad Reigle and their son Harley, Robert, Kenny, Lisa; a grandfather, Chuck Watts and a grandmother, Julie Kuhn. Visitation will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2-3 p.m., at Free Grace Brethren in Christ, Millersburg, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, 120 Willow Rd., Suite C, Harrisburg PA 17109.
