MILLERSBURG • Lester William Novinger Jr. (Bill), passed away Jan. 22, 2021, at Harrisburg Hospital. Bill was born May 7, 1945, in Harrisburg, Pa., to Lester W. Novinger and Ruth Witmer Novinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmother, Francis Smith Novinger. Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, JoAnn Shumberger Novinger of Millersburg; son, Benjamin W. Novinger and wife, Tina, of Hummelstown; a grandson, Grant, and granddaughter, Peyton. Bill was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church in Millersburg. He graduated from Dover High School, Dover, Del. He also attended Mitchell Jr. College and High Point College, N.C. Bill was a proud U.S. Army veteran, who had served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Millersburg VFW and American Legion. He loved his time in Ocean City, Md., coaching youth soccer and baseball, and hearing the accomplishments of his grandchildren. Services and burial were held Jan. 27, 2021, at David’s Community Bible Church Cemetery, Millersburg. The family wishes memorial contributions to be made to Mitchell Community College, Statesville, N.C., or Hebron United Methodist Church, Millersburg.
