ELIZABETHVILLE • Heaven has gained an Angel. Leah M. Snyder, 89, of Elizabethville, formerly of Wiconisco, passed away Monday, Dec. 2 at her son’s home in Gratz. She was born in Spring Glen, Dec. 15, 1929, a daughter of the late Charles L. and Iva F. Koppenhaver Cole. Leah was a 1947 graduate of the former Wiconisco High School. She was a retired seamstress from the former Bobbie Rogers garment factory, Wiconisco. She was a member of the ILGWU. Leah was a current member of Salem Lutheran Church, Elizabethville. She was a former member of St. Christopher’s Lutheran Church, Lykens, where she attended most of her life. Leah was a woman of great faith who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as a devoted mother. Leah was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan; she enjoyed cooking and baking. She will be forever remembered for the love and devotion shown to her family; her family was her world. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Kathryn; an infant brother; and two sons-in-law, Terry Leitzel and Keith Oxenrider. Surviving are family whom she adored; her husband of 70 years, Carl D. Snyder; five children: Durene Archer (Carl), Dauphin; Mary Ellen Oxenrider, Tower City; Ken Snyder (Gail), Gratz; Steve Snyder (Ruth), Spring Mills and Wade Snyder (Michelle), Harrisburg; nine grandchildren: Carlla Carr (Derek), Jill Archer (Bojan), Brandon, Jordan, Alix, Lydia, Andy, Ben and Lilly Snyder; two great-granddaughters, Avary and Emerson Carr; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Dec. 6 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Inc, Tower City. Burial was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
