LaVerne R. Herman

ELIZABETHVILLE • LaVerne R. Herman, age 87, of Wilhour Rd., passed away, Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, at UPMC Harrisburg. She was born Sept. 28, 1933, in Wayne Twp., daughter of the late William and Ivy (Gottschall) Etzweiler. She was the widow of Marlin T. Herman. LaVerne was a member, organist and past treasurer at the St. James Church, Carsonville. She was a farm wife, member of the Fisherville Grange and Halifax Alumni. LaVerne was a former member of the Chaplaires gospel group. She was also an avid seamstress and exceptional baker. LaVerne is survived by her daughter, Karla R. (Gary) Miller, Halifax; brother, Armin G. (Alverta) Etzweiler, Halifax; sister-in-law, Carol Etzweiler, Halifax, and several nieces, nephews, stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and infant son, Edward Leroy Herman, and brother, Owen R. Etzweiler. Services will be private and at the family’s convenience.
