GRATZ • Laura Esther Romberger, 82, of Long Road, died March 23, 2021, at her residence. She was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Jordan Twp., Northumberland County, Pa., daughter of the late Adam and Jennie (Lahr) Houser. She was the widow of Lloyd James Romberger. She also was preceded in death by her three brothers, Ernest “Dicky,” Raymond “Pinky” and Alvin “Bud” Houser; sister, Hilda Piefer; stepson, James and stepdaughter, Mary E. Chioli. She is survived by her brother Charlie Houser of Sunbury and sister Pat Maurer of Gratz; two sons, Roger L. (Angelia) Hendricks of Gratz and Delmar D. Wiest Jr. and companion Janella Serucsak of Lykens; daughter, Tina M. Hendricks, of Gratz; stepson, Thomas Romberger of Tremont; stepdaughter, Helen Barger of Millersburg; grandchildren, Cody, Michael, Jesse, Lauramarie, Elizabeth, Chassidy and Teaheshia; 13 stepgrandchildren and 17 stepgreat-grandchildren. She was retired from the former Mars Footwear Mfg., Elizabethville. She loved putting together puzzles with her grandchildren, loved doing crossword puzzles, playing cards like 500 rummy, sitting outside when the weather was nice, listening to her favorite gospel program on the radio on Saturdays, loved listening to old country western music and liked watching preachers preach on television. She had high interests in Elvis, including having a scrapbook of Elvis. Services were held March 29 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd., Elizabethville, a Minnich Funeral establishment.
