ELIZABETHVILLE • Larry R. Snody, age 83, passed away July 1, 2019, at his home. He was born March 24, 1936, in Elizabethville, son of the late John and Elsie (Koppenhaver) Snody. He was the widower of Jean Stuppy Snody and Barbara Stoneroad Snody. He was a retired truck driver for MOPAC, Elizabethville. He was a life member of Salem United Church of Christ, Elizabethville. Larry had served in the Pennsylvania National Guard. He had memberships with the American Legion Post No. 404, Elizabethville; Reliance Hose Co. No. 1, Elizabethville; and the Erdman Sportsman’s Association; life member of the Dauphin County Volunteer Fireman’s Association; and member of the F&AM Ashlar Lodge No. 570, Lykens and Ancient Accepted Scottish Right, Valley of Harrisburg. He enjoyed spending time with his family and hunting, fishing and watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers. He is survived by two children, Denise M. (Jeff) Hoffman, Halifax, and Scott R. (Molly) Snody, Halifax; stepson, Ben (Erin) Margerum, Millersburg; two stepdaughters, Mercedes (Donald) Green, Elizabethville and Rebecca Margerum, Elizabethville; grandchildren, Kevin Hoffman, Ryan Hoffman, Rachel Snody and Mandy Snody; stepgrandchildren, Jessica Green, Jason Green, Wil, Henry and Alex Rae Laskowski. He was preceded in death by sister, Marion Hentz; and three grandchildren, Alyssa, Erin and Kyle Snody. Memorial services were held July 6 at his church. Burial followed in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville. The family requests that memorial donations may be made to Salem UCC, 143 W.
