HALIFAX • Larry D. Vallier, 71, died Nov. 2 at Harrisburg Hospital. He was born Nov. 28, 1947, in Kalamazoo, Mich., a son of the late Bernard and Roberta Johnson Vallier. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He retired as a foreman for Norfolk Southern Railroad’s Enola Yards. He was a member of Susquehanna Lodge No. 364 F&AM, Millersburg, Harrisburg Consistory, and an active member of the Halifax Area Historical Society. He was inducted into the Comstock High School Hall of Fame, and he coached basketball, football and baseball for many years at Halifax Area High School. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Patrick and Arthur. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Vallier; two daughters, Melanie and Beth; two sons, Larry Jr. and Scott; five grandchildren; a brother, Bernard; and two sisters, Robin and Maureen. Masonic and memorial services were held Nov. 7 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Elizabethville. Burial was in Miller’s Church Cemetery, Halifax.
