LANCASTER • Karen D. Long, 62, of Lancaster, entered the kingdom of heaven to walk alongside her Heavenly Father Friday, April 26, 2019, at Hospice & Community Care in Mt. Joy, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sunbury, Pa., she was the daughter of Robert and Leona (Wynn) Shaffer. She was the loving wife of Raymond C. Long Sr. with whom she shared more than 33 years of marriage. She was a graduate of Line Mountain High School and later attended Elizabethtown College. Along with her husband Ray, they owned and operated Rayco Process Services since 1985. Karen’s faith was very important to her, and she was very involved at the Connection Christian Church in Lancaster, where she played the piano, served on the worship team and volunteered in various ways. She enjoyed playing the piano, hosting parties, but most of all her joy in life was spending time with her family. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Raymond C. Long Jr., husband of Hope of Millersville; two daughters, Karen T. Wilson, wife of Brian of Pequea and Natasha Long, of Lancaster. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Hunter, Brooke, Cole and Taylor; sister, Melanie Peters, wife of Scott of Elizabethville, Pa., and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Karen’s Life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Connection Christian Church, 551 Abbeyville Rd., Lancaster, PA 17603. Interment will follow in Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Karen’s memory may be made to the church at the above address. To send an online condolence, visit SnyderFuneralHome.com
