June E. Wiest
HALIFAX • June E. Wiest, age 92, of Harrisburg and formerly of Third St., Halifax, passed away, Oct. 26, 2020, at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1928, in Halifax, the daughter of the late Delmar and Anna (Hoy) Still. She was the widow of Clair Wiest. She had worked for many years for the former Willits Shoe Co., Halifax. She was a Christian, attended and was a choir member of the UCC Valleys Church in Halifax. June had volunteered for many years serving Meals on Wheels and helping at the Senior Center and was a voting polls volunteer. Many knew her as a social butterfly, and she enjoyed being with her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed making and sharing her famous deviled eggs and rice crispy treats. She is survived by her granddaughters, Nicole Dadoun and Chanel Wiest and great-grandchildren, Yael Dadoun, Aaron Dadoun and Cora Lee Rice and beloved nieces and nephews. The family will have a celebration of life service at a date to be announced. The burial will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation. Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home, Ltd., Millersburg handled the arrangements.
