WICONISCO • Julia E. Kramer, age 67, was reunited with her loving husband Tom in heaven Dec. 10, 2020. She passed away into heavenly grace at UPMC Pinnacle Osteopathic after fighting a very brave battle with cancer and COVID -19. She was born Dec. 28, 1952, in Lykens, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Marlin G. Warner, Pauline Weaver Zimmerman and J. Carl Zimmerman (stepfather). She also was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Thomas H. Kramer; sister, Barbara A. Miler; brother, Boyce E. Warner; and stepbrother, Richard Zimmerman. In 1972, Julia began her nursing career as a floor nurse at Polyclinic Hospital, and in the early 1980s, was one of the first nurses hired to work on the newly created Outpatient Surgery Department. She worked at Polyclinic until December of 2000, then transferred to Harrisburg Hospital, where she worked in Surgical Services and oversaw the desk. Julia made sure the floor ran smoothly and greeted everyone with a welcoming smile and encouraging words. She worked for UPMC Pinnacle Health System for 47 years. She was a member of Peace UCC in Berrysburg, Pa., where she served as the Women’s Guild president and served as a Girl Scout leader in Wiconisco, Pa., for many years. She loved to bowl and spend time enjoying nature. Her biggest joy was her grandson, Jacob. He was the light of his “Winn’s” eye. Some of her best memories were made with her family at Camp Stay A-While in Potter County. She leaves behind her daughter, Andrea E. Wenger; son-in-law, H. Edward (Ed); and grandson, Jacob T. of Williamstown, Pa. She also is survived by many nieces, nephews and many friends, who she loved like family. The family briefly received friends and family Dec. 14 at Peace United Church of Christ. Berrysburg. A graveside service was held Dec. 15, 2020, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Hill Church), Elizabethville, Pa. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Peace United Church of Christ, 150 N. Chestnut St., Berrysburg, PA 17005. A celebration of life will be held at the Kramer Farm in Wiconisco sometime in the summer of 2021, when it will hopefully be safe for everyone to gather.
