CARLISLE • Joyce A. (Snyder) Meck, 90, of Carlisle, Pa., died Thursday, June 27, 2019, at the Gardens of Camp Hill in East Pennsboro Twp., Camp Hill, Pa. She was born Nov. 4, 1928, in Battle Creek, Mich., to the late Homer Edwin and Viola Mildred Berger Snyder, and grew up in the Herndon, Pa., area. She was the widow of Alfred Lee Meck, who died June 16, 2014. Joyce was a retired bookkeeper, who worked for many of the local car dealerships including Graham Motors of Carlisle. She was a graduate of the Northeastern Bible Institute of Green Lane, Pa. Joyce was a former member of Bethel Assembly of Carlisle. She enjoyed traveling, crafting and was a great seamstress. She is survived by her loving daughter, Angie M. Meck of Carlisle, Pa., and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela A. Meck Frye; and three sisters: Audrey Knepp, Faith Rich and Myra Forman. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, July 12, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Hoffman Funeral Home & Crematory, 2020 W. Trindle Rd., Carlisle. There will not be a public viewing, but the family will be receiving relatives and friends from noon until time of the services. Interment services will be private in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made in Joyce’s name to the American Cancer Society, 112 Sipe Ave., Hummelstown, PA 17036.
