Joseph F. Rexer
ELIZABETHVILLE • Joseph F. Rexer, 82, of Duncannon, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at UPMC West Shore Hospital, Mechanicsburg, Pa.
Born Oct. 18, 1937, in Philadelphia, Pa., he was the son of the late Edward J. Rexer Sr. and Ernstine Rexer (Molz).
He retired as an elevator mechanic. After retirement, Joe continued to work part-time as an elevator inspector. He also worked with farming, well drilling and even became a water douser.
He loved fishing, boating, hunting, gardening, kayaking, biking, camping and traveling to name a few.
Surviving are three sons, Gerald Rexer (Susan Stiteler) of Englewood, Fla., Richard Rexer (Candy Woodhead) of Dushore, Pa., and Christopher Rexer (Marianne Scicchitano) of Scottsdale, Ariz., and a daughter; Laura Rexer Paulauskas (Stephen) of Halifax, Pa.
Joe was a proud grandfather to eight surviving grandchildren, Angela Rexer, Timothy Rexer, Gavin Rexer, Hallie Rexer, Kenneth Rexer, Stephanie Paulauskas, Nicholas Paulauskas and Nathan Paulauskas; and his four great-grandchildren, Victoria Rexer, Melissa Rexer, William Rexer and David Rexer.
He was preceded in death by grandson Kurt Rexer and half-brother Ronald Rexer.
Private services will be held, as per Joe’s wishes.
His final resting place will be at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Philadelphia, Pa.
