HERNDON • John W. Carl, 88, died Nov. 7 at his residence.
He was born Jan. 26, 1930, in Jackson Twp., a son of the late James Carl and Bertha Zeiders.
He was a 1948 graduate of Lower Mahanoy Twp. School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was a retired carpenter and helped on his son’s farm.
He was a member of the former Seibert EC Church of Herndon, where he served several years on the board; and a member of the Herndon Fire Co.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Snyder Carl; and five brothers, James, George, Ralph, Dean and Fred.
He is survived by three sons: Stanley of Roy, Utah; James of Herndon and Bruce of Halifax; a daughter, Trudy Pettine of Collegeville; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Larry of Herndon; and a sister, Nancy Rebuck of Herndon.
Services were held Nov. 12 at New Life EC Church of Herndon.
Burial was in Herndon Cemetery.
