MILLERSBURG • Jacqueline Mattis Deibler, age 76, passed away peacefully at her home Sept. 29, 2020, with her loving daughters near. She was born in Harrisburg, Pa., Nov. 10, 1943, to the late James A. Mattis and Marian (Collins) Mattis. She graduated from Millersburg High School in 1961. She married her beloved husband David Deibler June 15, 1963. They shared 52 loving years together until Dave’s death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her older brother Jerry Mattis. Jacquie worked at the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publisher’s Association for more than 28 years until her retirement in 2008; she was the statewide classified manager. She enjoyed her work there, her colleagues and the travel. She was a member of David’s Community Bible Church. She served in many ways through the years. She was a Sunday school teacher, youth leader, on the Women’s Ministry Committee, choir member and sewing group member. She loved people and was always willing to lend a hand when needed. She had a heart for children and would also help teach at Release Time for the Millersburg Elementary students. She also served on the Millersburg Senior Center Board. Jacquie was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and loyal friend. Surviving are her three daughters and their husbands: Trisha and Steve Boyer of Millersburg, Pa., Tammy and Dennis Gordon of Long Beach, Calif., Jodi and Jerry Feagley of Halifax, Pa.; her grandchildren: Brett (Lindsay), Cole, Hayden, Hallie, Dennis, Scott, Kristin and Natalie. Also surviving are her brother Dr. Jeffrey Mattis and wife Jodie of Coatesville; brothers-in-law, Robert Deibler of Harrisburg and William Deibler and wife Linda of Hamburg, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held Tuesday, Oct. 6 at David’s Community Bible Church with Pastor Allan Briggs and Rev. Brooke Solberg officiating. Burial was in the David’s Community Bible Church cemetery.
