HALIFAX • Jack L. “Chesty” Hoffman, age 84, of Harman Road, passed away Feb. 25, 2021, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. He was born Feb. 10, 1937, in Harrisburg, the son of the late Isaac and Margaret (Hoke) Hoffman. He was a retired machine operator and had worked for Metal Industries. Jack enjoyed spending time with his grandson, playing cards, watching the Packers football games and wrestling at the high school and college level. Jack enjoyed hunting deer and bear and the days when he would travel to Canada to fish. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy L. (Black) Hoffman; two sons, Scott A. Hoffman, Halifax, and Steve C. (Carmen) Hoffman, Tower City; grandson, Caylan A. Hoffman, Tower City; brother-in-law, Robert Black, Millersburg; nephews, Jeffrey L. Black, Blaine and Robert Krotser Jr., Millersburg; nieces, Debra Carroll, Halifax, Linda Leonard, Annville, Sally Bowersox, Aspers, Sheila Zeiders, Enola, Robin Pyle, Etters, Belinda Douglas, Millersburg, and Jessica Hoffman, Mechanicsburg, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nora Hoffman, and two brothers, Fred Hoffman and Robert “Pete” Hoffman. Services were held March 2 at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes Ltd, Millersburg.
