MYERSTOWN • Ivan E. “Charlie” Kissinger, 92, formerly of Valley View, died March 5, at Stone Ridge Towne Center, Myerstown. He was born June 29, 1926, in Gratz, a son of the late Albert and Irene Spotts Kissinger. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator for the former Kocher Coal Co. prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Valley View; a member of American Legion Post No. 575 and VFW Post No. 8237, both of Valley View; F&AM Valley Lodge No. 797 Valley View; and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon Millersburg Forest No. 125. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Maurer Kissinger; two brothers, Billy Kissinger and Lamar Kissinger; and a sister, Lorraine Herb. He is survived by a son, Tom Kissinger of Boiling Springs; a daughter, Beverly Mason Bradenton, Fla.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Runkle of Fairport, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held March 9 at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. Burial with military honors was made in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, Valley View.
