Irene Hope Bible

Irene Hope (Lebo) Bible, 93, departed this life May 10. She was born in Elizabethville, July 1, 1925, daughter of the late Margaret (Bohner) and Edwin Lebo. She is survived by her two loving daughters, Carole Lee Tuma of Mechanicsburg and Ann Louise Miller of Horseshoe Bay, Texas. She was a devoted grandmother to Stephen Branchick of Missouri, Alicia Christie of Victoria, Australia, Jennifer Carballo of Texas, Somer Leigh Pugliese of Texas and Lora Lee Pooley of Florida; great-grandmother to Nickolas, Jack, Hannah, Amy, Drew and Mali Ann; and great-great-grandmother to Lennox. Also surviving are a sister Virginia and brother-in-law Bill Wenner of Harrisburg and a sister-in-law Franziska Lebo of Halifax. She was preceded in death by five siblings: Edwin, Russell and Gloria Lebo, Faye Gonder and Marjorie Becktel. She was a graduate of Elizabethville High School and attended Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, Tenn. While there she did missionary work through the college. She later made her home in Santa Anna, Calif., for 45 years, working as executive assistant at an architectural firm. She also had her own interior design business. She returned to Pennsylvania in 2011 and resided most recently at The Bridges at Bent Creek in Mechanicsburg. She enjoyed gardening and reading, especially poetry. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home Ltd. in Elizabethville. A celebration of her life will take place at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, with internment immediately following in Maple Grove Cemetery.
