MYERSTOWN • H. Robert Samuels, 88, formerly of Williams-town, died April 23.
Born Feb. 23, 1932, in Adamstown, he was the son of the late Rev. Henry E. and Gertrude Samuels.
He was preceded in death by his wife Esther, and by four brothers and a sister.
He is survived by his children, Jan Forsyth, Jon Samuels, Scott Samuels, Randy Samuels and LuAnn Vesho; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a brother Joel and many nephews and nieces.
He was licensed as a minister out of St. Paul’s Evangelical Congregational Church, Rothsville, in 1953 and was a member of the first graduating class of Evangelical Seminary. During his life of service, he served 13 different congregations both as an assistant pastor and senior pastor. He retired in 1996.
A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family. A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Evangelical Seminary, 121 South College St., Myerstown PA 17067.
